Installation
The installation guides that we have provided here are to help you not only correctly install our water storage tanks but also to help you maintain them.
For the 1000 Litre and 2000 Litre tanks you will find two options available for installing, those being the free standing and Wall Mounted instructions.
For the 3000 Litre you have an additional option where you can install the tank adjacent to a wall.
All the PDF guides include very easy to follow step step instructions including the brackets used to secure the tank to walls/fence and the solid base.

General Questions & Answers about our Slimtanks
What Tank Sizes Are Currently Available?
We currently have three sizes available being the 1000 litre, 2000 litre and 3000 litre thin rainwater tank.
- 1000 litre – 2400mm (L) x 1850mm (H) x 260mm (W)
- 2000 Litre – 2395mm (L) x 1975mm (H) x 470mm (W)
- 3000 Litre – 2920mm (L) x 1970mm (H) x 580mm (W)
Each tank can be installed as either a stand alone tank or in multiples of any number of tanks to give you greater water collection capacity. Our tanks are ideal to join inline along boundaries, holding significant water storage without taking up much backyard space or usable area around the house.
How Much Do These Water Storage Tanks Cost
Due to the high quality material used, as well as the extra thickness in the water tank structure, the price is slightly more than traditional rainwater tanks. A price saving feature of these tanks however, is that they are easier to transport and install due to their shape and compact design.
What Colours Do You Have Available
Will I Have A Constant Supply Of Water
If you have a constant amount of rainfall, then the answer to this question is yes. However without rainfall, you will not be able to fill and maintain the water tank.
With consistent rainfall you will easily be able to supply water to a toilet and/or laundry. The water storage tank can be connected to the residence with a three way automatic valve that switches to mains water when the water tank has insufficient water to service those areas of a property.
What Size Tank Should We Install?
Things to consider when choosing what size water tank is best for your residence or business are:
- Roof area (ability to catch water)
- Amount of people it needs to service
- Estimated annual rainfall in your area
My Residence Is On A Hill With Sloping Land, Can I Have A Water Tank?
Yes, providing you place the inlet and overflow pipe at the highest level.
The water must flow downhill into each tank and the overflow exits at the highest point in the multiple tanks. Install air release valves in each tank that is downhill from the inlet.
Discuss such installation details with your qualified installer who must be aware of the slope prior to ordering tanks. Air release valves are required and the top entries manufactured to suit.
How Much Maintenace Is Required?
Our rainwater storage units require very little maintenance provided they are correctly installed.
Typical maintenance requirements include:
- Cleaning of the first flush device every 3-6 months
- Removing leaf debris from gutters and roofs every 3-6 months
- Checking insect screens and other potential mosquito entry points at the onset of warm weather each year
- Ensuring that water is not pooling in the vicinity of your Thintank™
- Checking sediment levels every two years. Rainwater brings dirt from both the roof and atmosphere as the rain falls.
Cleaning inside any rainwater tank is best carried out by your installer or local plumber, and is done when the tank is nearly empty.
